The use of fresh water by the HHLA Group is mainly restricted to the cleaning of large-scale equipment and containers, as well as for employee hygiene and canteen operations. HHLA’s operations in Austria, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Georgia, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia and Ukraine consumed 106,693 m3 of water in 2022 (previous year: 95,791 m3). HHLA’s facilities draw water from the public supply network.
