HHLA takes the protection of personal data very seriously and is committed to respecting every individual’s right to informational self-determination. Within this context, HHLA complies with applicable data protection laws when processing the personal data of employees, customers, suppliers and other business partners.
Responsible behaviour is a prerequisite for data protection; for this reason, HHLA has implemented a data protection management system that aims to ensure compliance with legal regulations and its internal guidelines. The data protection unit is responsible for implementing and enhancing HHLA’s data protection management system. Core elements include advising employees on all data protection-related queries and raising awareness about data protection issues. The data protection system will continue to be optimised on an ongoing basis and adapted to any changes that arise.
