10. Investments

As of 30 June 2026, total capital expenditure throughout the HHLA Group amounted to € 221,838 thousand (previous year: € 247,930 thousand).

The majority of this capital expenditure was for expansion investments, focusing on the HHLA container terminals in the Port of Hamburg and the extension and modernisation of the international container terminals. Investments were also made in the purchase of locomotives and container wagons as well as the expansion of the METRANS Group’s hinterland terminals.

As of 30 June 2026, investment commitments attributable to all segments totalled € 308,782 thousand (previous year: € 348,372 thousand).
